Representatives of transmission system operators and research institutions focused on the applications of Dynamic Line Rating and its benefits to create a more optimized and resilient grid. The webinar was organized by the currENT, the key industry association representing innovative grid technology companies operating in Europe.
Janko Kosmač from ELES presented the integration of DLR technology with our SCADA / EMS system and its use in the operation of the power system. He pointed out that in ELES DLR is part of a broader system for Dynamic Rating System SUMO, that our DLR uses weather data to assess dynamic thermal flows, that we have been using SUMO since 2016 and that we currently monitor 31 power lines in this way. He stressed that the integration of DLR into the SCADA / EMS system is necessary, as SCADA / EMS is a key tool for operators at the National Control Centre. He then presented the structure of our DLR system and concluded with the benefits that its use brings ELES.
