The testing and parameterization of the STATCOM will continue until the start of the trial operation, which is scheduled for April 2022.

As part of the static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) installation in the Beričevo substation, an internal expert technical inspection and test start-up of a 400 / 51.5 kV transformer for the STATCOM were successfully performed.

The partners in the project (ELES, SODO, HOPS, HEP ODS), have combined various traditional and new approaches in a smart grid package that includes investments in infrastructure, technologies and processes.

Having demonstrated its conformity with EU policies in the field of smart grids, the project was selected in 2016 for co-financing under the Connecting Europe Facility call.
